Wiesner, David (2001). The Three Pigs. New York: Clarion.
This is a children’s picture book that
illustrates a traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs but at the same time
wonders into other tales. They make the story their own as the wolf returns to
eat them up but with the help of a dragon from another tale they defend
themselves and live happily ever after. This book is different in where the
story is changed by the pigs themselves through the way of stepping out into a
world of other tales setting off to an adventure of their own and in the
process saving themselves from the big bad wolf.
This story can help with introduciing
children to think critically and get out of the familiar and into using thier
own imagination to create their own stories.
