Good Masters, Sweet Ladies

Schlitz, Laura Amy. (2007). Good Masters, Sweet Ladies. Masachusetts: Candlewick Press.

This book introduces a series of plays that present how events took place during medieval times.  For instance one of the plays was about a young man who was taught to hunt a boar despite of his fears. It was a way of providing food for the family.  However, they had to step outside of the lines where they could hunt.  They had to take these kinds of risks regardless of the dire consequences in order to put food on the table. In addition, these stories present the gender differences in that women had to cook and men had to hunt.  This book is good for teaching students about life during medieval times.
