Rapunzel's Revenge

Hale, Shannon and Dean. (2008). Rapunzel’s Revenge. New York: Bloomsbury.

A well known classic story presented in a western time period.  A brave cowboy princess, Rapunzel builds curiosity to find out what lies behind a huge garden wall surrounding her home. She lives with whom she believes is her mother. She has never seen what is behind the wall. One day her curiousity leads her to climb the great wall and brings her great dispair of what she sees.  She is sent to live in a high tree by Gothel as punishment for not obeying.  She is unable to escape but promises to one day discover the truth about her young life. She meets jack and uses her long hair to climb down. Together they rescue her real mother and put an end to Gothel.

This exposes children to diverse written versions of classical stories.
